Question tire pics

Can anyone post the widest tires they have mounted on stock ss wheels 97 models.Thinking about 285 40 17 all around want to see it first though ...thanks

He has stock SS wheels, and since he has 17's we have to assume its not a convertible. 17x9.0 55mm offset.

Most manufacturers recommend a 9.5" wide wheel for the 285/40-17's so I suspect he want a photo to see if it looks sort of "pinched" on a 9.0" wide rim.

i`ve got 285/35/18
they sometimes hit fender esspacially on the right one, thats pissing me off, but I will make my suspension more stiff to avoid it and it will be ok

and my friend`s , 265/40/18 at rear, sometimes they hit fender too, but he have to change shocks

Dude where did you get those wheels, they look great! I can not believe I have never seen them before. I really like how the back wheel has that deepdish appearance.

Why not go 275? Is the tire you're looking at only available in 285?

You'll probably get just as good if not better traction from a tire that fits the rim the right way and it'll cost less too. Besides, traction's all in the compound not in the width.. of course I'm assuming that's why you want a wider tire... As for looks, I don't think you'll be able to tell a difference.. I mean we're talking about 10 mm here
