Tips on installing a Hooker exhaust???

Tips on installing a Hooker exhaust???

I plan on instlling my new Hooker exhaust on my 96 Z28 and wanted to know if are any tips are tricks to the install.

Make the cut on the stock I-pipe just in front of the rear axle. When installing the new cat-back, get all the pieces in place without tightening them too much. There's going to be a bit of back and forth here and there, adjusting where things sit before you have it just where you want it. Tighten down as you go.

Crank it up, check for any leaks, crack a cold one, and start thinking about that header install...

Jkipp,

When you say make the cut??? I thought it would be a direct on with o fabrication. Why is the cut necessaary?

The stock pipe needs to be cut to remove it (or drop the rear, I suppose). If someone has some sort of trick for removing it without cutting it, I've never heard of it.

It's really not that bad, a hack saw, air tool cutter, pipe cutter, machine gun, what ever works.
