Timing Help

I guess I'm a little confused. Going with a true roller from CM so I've got my old chain off. Took it off being careful to be at #6 TDC. Long story short I had to rotate the crank a couple of times without moving the cam, BTW my rockers are completely loose so I didn't bend anything. OK now it's time to put the new chain on. All I need to do is make sure the crank dot is straight up and the cam gear is straight down that will put me at #6 TDC right? In other words as long as the crank dot is at 12:00 O'clock I'm at number 1 and 6 TDC so I don't need to check if the number 1 piston is at the top.
