Leather seat rip
Leather seat rip
I recently got a rip in my driver leather seat in the part that has the holes in it that you sit on. Its a pretty big rip (about 8 inches from the left side to the right of the seat) and I'm on a bit of a budget so I definately want to replace just this piece. I got quoted $100 to do fix it but using fake leather and $200 for leather. The padding beneath the seat seems smushed, which could've contributed to the leather ripping, even though Im only 145 lbs. Where could I find replacement padding for this? So basically I'm wondering how much I should pay to fix this from those with experience doing this and if there's anything else I should do..?
Might check around some of the auto wrecking yards on the web (f-body),maybe can find a almost new one for cheaper.(check color). Also, might check the recycler.com--for cars being parting out.E-bay?Hope this helps.
i dont think i would just replace the ripped section with new leather because its gonna look weird with worn leather around a perfectly new piece...i recomend buying a used seat in good condition from the for sale board or somewhere else to replace it like fatdog said
actually since u have 96 seats it might blend in better...i know on my 97 seats with the little holes the passenger seat looks nice while the driver seat has little creases and looks a lot different
