timing cover and double roller

i just put my cam in today and the cloyes double roller timing chain. ive heard sometimes the chain wont clear the timing cover. where does it normally hit the cover so i can maybe just grind some away before i put it on?

If I remember correctly, mine hit just about everywhere below the 3 and 9 oclock position on the cam gear.

Best bet is to put some grease on the face of the chain, test fit the cover to see where it's touching, and grind away... then repeat the process.

Use macinists blue dye to mark the inside of the cover and grind aways.
