ahhh. ic, I know where GLD is but never heard of the other one.

but yea. once I get it all together I will be doing a few track runs. I will keep my eyes open in the Mid-West area forum for track days.

So bill, how do you feel about the stock chain?

also, I have seen clains of electric water pumps freeing up 15hp.. I just dont see it being that high, does like 5-7 at the most sound realist?.. It might be worth the extra $50 (Instead of going LT4) to go with an electric pump and Cloyes True Roller Timing Chain (9-3145).

but then I have to modify the cover?.. what exactly needs to be done?

either way, I know I will be replacing the set, not just the chain.

The stock chain will be fine.
Not sure of the 15 hp claim. There has to be some power to free up, though. I chose the lt4 E. D. set because at the time it was only $200 thru Jason Cromer and I didn't want to modify my cover using a different set. I wasn't thinking about an electric pump, at that time. I had my lt4 set for sale briefly, but decided to keep it. I have a b-body waterpump that I want to modify and try the electric. Either way, I should be fine to use my timing set for either set up.
The choice is yours, but if you are doubting the stocker, you probably shouldn't.
