AYRBORN and CL21376,

How long have you had your RE730's. Are they the Gen II model? Mine didn't get loud until 6000 miles, and then they got REAL loud. Rotations help a lot with noise I've noticed, but then again I have the original Gen 1 version. Incredible tires except for the noise.

Tread wear is very good too.

Just replaced RE730's with Kumho MX, IMHO awsome tire for the price. Comparable to BFG KD's with an advantage in stopping distance according to Tire Rack. Its really only a summer time tire though (large tread blocks) but does rate good in the wet. So far Im pleased.

Cool

On my 2nd set of Firestone sz50ep's.The tire compound in the tire is gaged so that the more they wear down, the better they grip. They are a very predictable tire.Good for about 20,000 mi or so.When they get about 15,000 mi on them, simply go to a tire shop, and have the tires remounted from the left side to the right side(they are directional tires).(Take the left front tire, and have it mounted on the right side, and with the back tires). If you have tremendous torque at the rear, simply lower the air to about 30-32 lbs,but you better have some decent shocks,or the car will bottom out on take off.My02(getting ready to order another set ,set #3,from tire rack at about $135 each.My02
(The Falkens do weigh about 5 lbs. more than the Firehawks each if that is an issue).Hope this helps.

I would like to retract this statement, turns out the noise was coming from a bearing in my rearend. So as of now the tires have about 5k on them and are absolutely perfect, no noise, all around excellent traction, you can't go wrong......as long as you can find them cheap enough.My.02
