Re: time for a new catback

Here's a good quality sound clip of the Hooker cat-back on an LT1 behind stock manifolds & cats...It sounds about the same as the Hooker I just took off of my LT1...Obviously, it would only sound better with some headers...

Re: time for a new catback

You'll love it.

I've had nearly that identical setup. Mac 1 5/8", 2.5" Y-pipe, Carsound High Flow Cat, and Hooker catback.

Sounded great! I took the cat out, and replaced it with the bullet muffler. They both sound great. They bolt in and out, so I can change between the two in about 5 minutes.

The bullet is deeper and louder, the cat is a little smoother sounding and quieter. Neither one has any rasp.

No noticeable rasp with my setup at all, even with an off-road pipe instead of a cat. Just makes it meaner sounding.

BTW, that was an excellent soundclip for the Hooker.
