What's your budget? You can replace the Flowmaster muffler with a full cat-back exhaust. Do the throttle body coolant bypass for 6HP. Install a set of 1.6X roller rockers. Do a set of long tube headers. PCM tune and a 160-degF thermostat. Upgrade the camshaft, with matching valve train parts. Have your stock heads ported. Bore it and stroke it to 383 or 396 cubic inches. Blower, turbo or nitrous.......

Really no limit to what you can do, other than how much you have to spend. Figure whatever you put into the engine, plan on spending at least 1/2 additional for drivetrain and suspension mods.

For starters.... provide more info about your car - which trans, A4 of M6? If its the A4, which rear gears - 2.73 or 3.23?

Definitely more info needed, including some idea of the budget. The sky is the limit, so you need to provide as much info as you can. There is a lot of experience with the "outmoded" LT platform here, but a very general question may not generate much response.

cat back is really dependent on personal choice (sound mostly). all will give about 10 whp. stainless steel brands like corsa, borla, bb triflow will be 500-700 but last forever. for headers, decide of you want to keep emissions/cat etc. if you do, you can't beat mac-mids, if you don't need cats and emissions and you're ok with low ground clearance, get long tubes. be sure to get any header ceramic coated!

Re: time for more power but where to start

I have Kooks long tubes with catted Y-pipe and pass emissions easily. The Kooks gave me quite a bit more ground clearance than my Hookers. They are pricey, especially coated. But as someone else mentioned, definitely have them coated no matter what brand. I didn't when I first put my Kooks in and they kept the engine bay extremely hot and looked bad after a while.

I would do the headers, stall, and cam then a mail order tune. Depending on who is doing the work you might go over budget.

Yank is a good stall. I know Edge builds good converters; I talked to the owner; great guy he drives a srt8 challenger that he bought from a Dodge dealer my aunt manages.
