What is your thought on that??
I got the idea from this:

http://www.carolinarodshop.com/miscserv.htm

You can't see it from that angle in the above pic, but I drilled and tapped a new hole for a 1/2" NPT pipe bushing on the bottom of the pump. The coolant temp sensor and wire will be hidden when viewing the engine from the installed vantage point.

Details that help win show trophies.

Glad you posted this Ben. I was leary of the welding. I had thought of tapping it like Mdacton. Looks like a good way to go.

Did mine tonight while at work. I did exactly what Mdacton said and it worked great. Tap used was 1/2-14 and plugged it with a 1/2 pipe thread plug.

"Pipe" threads are tapered, so as long as the tap you use is a 1/2"-14tpi NPT, it will work just fine.

plumbing supply place should have them, I will just go to the machine shop if I don't have one and tell them what I need. They never charge me and I will cut the threads myself while i'm there

I got mine at Kragen, I'd assume most auto parts stores carry them.
