Ticking noise in front of engine
Just what the tread says. I have a ticking noise coming from the front of the engine almost right on top the water pump. I have check the valve train no bent push rods and the rockers adjust properly. This problem also causes a miss in the engine. I know this is the advance problem area; but nobody else has been able to provide a solution with tearing the engine down. It is a 396 with 4 bolt, built just over a year ago. HELP

Is the noise RPM dependent? Is it a crisp metalic like ticking? If so sounds like an exhaust leak to me too... check your spark plugs and header bolts. Did you delete the egr?

Check your plugs wires at your Opti, maybe one is arcing out as sometimes arcing out can be kinda loud and would definitly cause a miss.
