ticking noise
ticking noise
i have heard a ticking noise in the front drivers side for quite a while now since i got my 94 z. i never really paid any attention to it though becase it would go away as the car warmed up. now i notice that the ticking noise is getting slightly louder; but still goes away after it warms up. i want to try to takle the noise before it becomes a major problem. what could the ticking noise be and how could i fix it?? i was thinking it might be a bent pushrod....but i am not sure. any help/suggestions on how to fix? thanks.
Re: ticking noise
That ticking noise you are hearing is probably your fuel injectors, they have ball bearings in them that can sound loud at times, completely normal. Does your car run crappy, if not it's likely your injectors.

Re: ticking noise
It might be exhaust gaskets, they have a tendency to make a ticking noise on startup but when the engine warms up it goes away. Over time it gets louder and louder then eventually wont go away even when the engine warms up. Its not that big of a deal though, its more annoying then anything else. It also might be the lifters, when they get loose they can cause a ticking noise. Its not too common because the lifters are supposed to compensate for some looseness but it does happen. Happen to mine and after i reajusted the lifters the ticking went away, but then ironically my header gaskets started ticking
