Ticking driving me nuts!!!!
Ticking driving me nuts!!!!
Got the cam in this past week. I ordered new donuts for the y pipe in case its an exhaust leak, but I wanted your guys opinions. On idle it ticks, which i'm assuming are the roller rockers. If it sits at idle, while i'm in the car its not really audible, but when its in gear and under load the ticking really starts. Then any time i'm cruising and let off the gas and coast, the ticking goes away. Any time the car is under load it just ticks. So, does this sound like an exhaust leak, or do i need to readjust my roller rockers or something. The car is running very good other than this ticking. Thanks for the help.
that is pretty common with a self aligning rocker like the LT4's. my cranes tick pretty much.
i wouldnt worry about it. only other thing i could think of would be an exhaust leak or a collapsed lifter(s)

Thats exactly what my exhaust leak did.
I fixed it with some JET HOTS!!!! AND TRUE DUALS MUHAHAHA.
Dude it got so bad towards the end, I was going insane. It bothered me the most. I was actually loosing a little power, and gas milage was goin down.

See I have tried everything and my rockers still tick. I have crane gold rockers and they will tick no matter what. I have adjusted them time after time and they tick. Ive replced both header and collector gaskets just to make sure and its still there. Its not too bad but it is definitly noticeable and will drive a man nuts. Do what i do, turn up the radio a hair and try to not worry about it once you made sure its not exhuast leak or loose rocker!
