Ahhh.....thats the way it should work...there is a reason for providing the car info.....helps keep things like this from happening.

[QUOTE] I have to tell you though, if I had put the wrong part number in an online order, I would not blame anyone but myself.
[QUOTE]

I agree.

You should have made sure you clicked on the right part. I agree they could maybe go half's with you on shipping, but it was your fault for not clicking the right parts. I've ordered many parts from them with no problem.

Just curious, if you order the wrong part from Jegs and it was because you clicked the wrong part will they pay for the shipping? I've never had to do it, just wondering.

With the exception of a couple of items, all of the performance parts I have bought (and probably will buy), I purchased through Thunderracing.com

And it is probably not that unusual for them to see people order a single cat cat-back for a 96 or 97 car (like if they had single cat headers).

In the end I have to say I'm sorry for, but you got what you ordered.

after reading the 4 pages of this thread. here's my take on the situation.
1. you ordered the wrong part
2. you want them to pay for your mistake

i order all my car stuff from summit and thunderracing. i have always got what i ordered in a timely manner, and i always order on the internet, i never call to verify orders, i just double check the confirmation email.

i have had to order parts for 94-95 lt1 a few times from thunder, and i put in my 96 info, and they never once called to verify.

i do agree with you on one part, if they dont use the car info, dont make us put it in

that just my opinion though,

jesse

I only read the first couple of replies. Let me state:
1. Thunder screwed up an order on me once. Out of over a thousand dollars worth of parts the sent me one wrong AN wrench.
2. They next dayed the correct one to me and told me to keep the other one for my trouble.
3. Because of that I've recommended them to everyone and anyone I know that needs 4th gen f body parts. I have all the respect in the world for their ethics.
4. Thunder is a sponsor here. If they wanted they could have this thread shut down and make it disappear. I've never seen them do that. They've got the ***** to address things out in the open and let things stand on it's own merit even though they know certain people here would cave into them if they threatened to pull their sponsorship. It's called morals. The people at Thunder have it. Make no misunderstanding.
5. I'm sure that this is some big misunderstanding. What would Thunder have to gain by purposefully sending you the wrong item?
6. If someone at Thunder told you they don't look at that info then that is probably someone that they don't need there. No company can be made of all winners. Don't let one bad apple ruin the whole bunch for you.

I'd kill to have Thunder local for me.

Also I read a little more of this thread. I don't see what Thunder did wrong. The info is probably just so they can keep records of what kind of cars people own that are ordering from them. I've got plenty of things on my car that aren't year correct. Ultimately it is your responsibility to order the correct part. If you can't do that then just call them next time, tell them the year of your car, ect., and what you are wanting. I can tell you from experience that they are very helpful, friendly, and professional via the phone.

Thumbs down

Personally I will never buy anything from Thunder again. I bought a valve cover breather from them that didn't fit. I finally got somebody from Thunder on the phone and they spent about 20 minutes acting like I too stupid to install a ****ing breather correctly. I had the "right" part number and everything, the thing just dropped straight into the oil fill hole it was supposed to thread into. The girl on the phone gave me the impression that threading a breather into a valve cover required mechanical skills that were far beyond me because "it fits on our car". Eventually I got to pay shipping back to them in return for a store credit.

Well I just ordered something from summit and its been a week and summit isnt that far from me. I checked my tracking and according to tracking "its on a fedex truck for delievery" but its been like that for two days. My order was only an hour from my house 2 days ago and I still havent recieved it yet. Anyway, Ive heard nothing but good things about thunder, but I guess a few people have had bad experiences.

If you will specify UPS or no order they will do it for you.

UPS is the way to go.

I don't they have the power to do such a thing and why would they? There has been more positive said than negative. "There is no such thing as bad publicity."
