Throttle got stuck open

I have a BBK throttle body. Last night while driving in part throttle it got stuck so I had to turn the car off. What can I do to prevent this from happening again?

Re: Throttle got stuck open

Do you know why the throttle blades stuck open? There are several ways this could happen.

Re: Throttle got stuck open

sometimes carbon/gunk buildup from inside the manifold will cause the throttle blades to stick. take some choke cleaner to it.

Re: Throttle got stuck open

When I first bought my car, it did that a couple times. I took off the intake elbow, and found duct tape holding the throttle open The elbow was cracked, and the previous owner tried to fix it with duct tape, on the bottom. I retaped it I later did a compression and leakdown test. All was good.

I dont know whats wrong with yours, you just reminded me of this and made me laugh

I had something that came loose and was actually hooking up on it and holding it down, make sure everything is properly attached too.
