Thanks Thunder Racing, Racetronix and Walbro!

I installed a Racetronix pump in my car in October. Since day one, the check valve has been bad. It's a major pain in the *** since it has to crank way too long to start. Contacted Thunder, they didn't want anything to do with it. Racetronix has been telling me to hold off because they are supposedly making a fix for this problem, but it's been over 2 months.

....Now the pump is bad. It whines louder than my exhaust and the car cuts out/sputters and won't go over 4k RPM's. Called Thunder Racing and told them this is unacceptable and got the same response as before. Contacted Walbro directly, and I got a very simple "Sorry, we can't help you". Gee, thanks!

This time I ordered a new one from LS1Speed...we'll see what happens with this one. I have purchased many products from Thunder and never would have expected them to treat a customer like this. I work for Autogeek.net, and I know that if a customer has a problem/complaint/damaged or lost product, we either replace it and let them keep the old stuff, or give them a full refund with no questions asked. It's not like I was asking them to replace a shortblock for free....

/end rant. Flame all you want.

Humm This looks like it belongs in the supporting vendors section

If it was bad form the git-go then they should have taken care of it. JMHO

I pulled the pump again for the 2nd day in a row, and it appears that the adhesive that holds the black padding on was deteriorating and clogging the screen of the pump. The black padding basically fell off and I had to scoop the adhesive out of the screen with my finger. Way to go

I ordered my racetronix pump and harness from thunder and it appeared to be some of the highest quality parts ive bought to date. I have nothing bad to say about either. Though i never had a problem that needed correcting. Ive been running the pump/harness for a few months with no problems.

You win some, you lose some, depending on what you buy, make sure you can take it back if it falls apart on you. I usually shoppe summit... and normally they're willign to take stuff back after an extended period of time.

Re: Thanks Thunder Racing, Racetronix and Walbro!

I also bought the same pump from Thunder Racing about the same time Matt bought his and I had the same problem with extended starting time which started at the time I installed the new pump.
I sent Thunder racing an e-mail about the problem and have not recieved a reply to this date.
I have spent plenty of $ with them but will not spend any more.

Re: Thanks Thunder Racing, Racetronix and Walbro!

I had a check valve problem on my pump and (insert name of non sponser here) overnighted me a pump no questions asked without even having the other one returned to them.
