throttle cable pulled through...

Is there a better way to secure the throttle cable at the footpedal? The cable pulled through the little plastic thing yesterday and I really don't want to go through thast hassle anytime soon. I can probably figure something out but am curious if anyone has done this before.

How about a little clamp thing that they use on bicycle brake cables? It secures with a nut.

that sounds like a good idea to me. Has it already pulled all the way through? If not how did you notice it. And make sure you adjust it correctly when you pull it back through, or you may go WOT and break it......

Thanks for the suggestions.

I noticed it in the semi finals yesterday at the track. I did a regular burnout, pulled to the line, flashed the converter, staged, and left on the last yellow. No more than 30 feet the car dropped to idle with my foot on the floor and the pedal didn't come back up. With the help of a friend I was able to temporarily jury rig a solution to be able to drive home, but a ball of electrical tape on the end is at best a very temporary solution.

I bet that was an "uh oh" feeling.

Another suggestion would be to clamp on a lead fishing sinker or two.

THATS TOTALLY UNFAIR I WAS GONNA SUGGEST THAT... I thought of that one earlier but I figured that being soft lead they would slide after a few WOT passes... But it sure sounds like a good idea..
