throttle body problems
throttle body problems
hey guys. i have a 52mm BBK throttle body on my camaro, and ever since ive had the car its had a high idle due to something w/ the throttle. Ive taken the tb off and cleaned the bore out completely to see if that would help...but its like when its on the car the blades dont want to close all the way. sometimes it will close all the way...but most of the time if im driving...then just push the clutch in...it sticks around 2300-2500 rpms, then if i hit the throttle really fast it will snap closed the rest of the way. So im guessing it has to do w/ the alignment of the blades? could anyone help me on how to adjust these? it gets pretty annoying after a while
thanks a lot

i know exactly what your talking about, but ive already tried putting a heavy duty spring on there, and for some reason it still doesnt want to work.. haha thanks for the response though
nope, im almost 100% sure that those are alright. throttle cable was fine when i took it off, and i made sure i put it back on right after i cleaned it...and it did the same thing.
You need to make sure that your TPS is adjusted to .5volts I believe. Sounds like the throttle blade isn't shutting all the way. I have had 2 of the 52mm and seriously believe they are not worth the money! You will get a better result from a custom PCM tune. IMO.
yeah, im not very fond of my 52mm right now...it came on the car though so i just left it on...im thinking of just upgrading to a 58mm even though i probably dont need to, but i am getting heads/cam this summer...so idk
