throttle body issues need help!
I just took off my throttle body and cleaned it... wow 250,000 miles of a throttle body not being cleaned is bad
. anyways cleaned it all up and my idle air control valve. I started the car after everything was put back together. ran smooth for 30 sec or so.. then i reved it up and now it idles at 1500 rpm . No matter if i unplug the battery or not.. what did i do wrong ???

Re: throttle body issues need help!
nothing, the car has learned to idle with such limited flow because it was dirty, now that its clean there is much more air getting through the iac and around the blades, it will eventually relearn or you can adjust the idle screw.

doh stuck ... i hope not. I dont need to re set the TPS sensor do i ? and i cleaned the air control valve with carb cleaner and i tooth brush ... is that ok way to do it ?
Re: throttle body issues need help!
When cleaning anything on the throttle body it's best to use a cleaner that states that it is safe for coated blades.....

I love it when people misquote me. It also annoys me when I answer the question in one place, and the OP starts a new thread, and ignores what I posted.
