throttle body issues need help!

I just took off my throttle body and cleaned it... wow 250,000 miles of a throttle body not being cleaned is bad . anyways cleaned it all up and my idle air control valve. I started the car after everything was put back together. ran smooth for 30 sec or so.. then i reved it up and now it idles at 1500 rpm . No matter if i unplug the battery or not.. what did i do wrong ???

nothing, the car has learned to idle with such limited flow because it was dirty, now that its clean there is much more air getting through the iac and around the blades, it will eventually relearn or you can adjust the idle screw.

My first thought is it got stuck in the wrong position. They are sensative and you need to be careful.

As mentioned in the other post you made,to quote Injuneer"you are not suppose to use any solvent on the Iac or you will damage it"...

That's not exactly what he said nor is the above correct. The IAC can be cleaned if care is taken to keep solvent, especially gunk laden solvent, out of the electrical part of the sensor. All you have to do is hold the sensor with the motor up and spray away. The solvent will remove the gunk and drain away from the motor.

When cleaning anything on the throttle body it's best to use a cleaner that states that it is safe for coated blades.....

I love it when people misquote me. It also annoys me when I answer the question in one place, and the OP starts a new thread, and ignores what I posted.
