Throtle body cleaning - cold start

Hey Guys:

I noticed that my revs weren't coming down as quickly when I came to a stop and I had a generally rougher idile than normal. I bought some throtle body cleaner. The can says to spay it into the TB while the car is on. I couldn't do that cause the car wouldn't start with intake elbow and sensors disconnected. So I just sprayed the butterfly and linkage and cleaned the area with a tooth brush.

I have since noticed that the idile is smoother, as is throtle response, but at cold starts the car wants to stall. It starts fine, but then starts to drop to 6/700 RPM. I'll gas it to bring it back, but then it will fall back to that same level. Once it warms up it's fine, and this did not happen at all before the TB cleaning last week.

Any ideas?

The IAC needs to be taken out and cleaned. You most likely had some of the carbon run down the channel from the Throttle body to the IAC. The channel is small. I would remove the throttle body take off the IAC and the lower casing of the throttle body and clean all that out. You will need a new lower throttle body gasket btw. I would also check the IAT sensor with an ohm meter sense you say its fine when its warmed up. I think Shoebox has the resistance measurements on his site.

Great. Just one question: What is a IAC? and how will I know when I found it?
