Looking for some thoughts and/or sound clips about welding a muffler directly to the Y-pipe and leaving it at that (maybe with a little piping). I don't see how this could possibly be any louder than say a vutout, and would probably give about the same gains? Anyone?

Thats the way I've had my exhaust for the last 2 1/2 years. Sounds awesome, works great. Rattles everything inside car. It is extremely loud inside. But it works, and gets rid of about 50 lbs of exhaust weight.

I imagine the stock system w/cat is fairly heavy...not sure about 50lbs?

So what muffler are you using? Wondering if I can get a muffler more on the quiet side and NOT **** off all my neighbors

It sounds good. Just make sure you put the muffler as far back as you can. Or it will and probably still will but not nearly as bad rattle the inside of your car. Someone posted a soundclip of that setup but I cant remember his name. Krien or somethin was his screenname. Im way off i think though. Sounded good though.
