Those with AS&M or RK sport headers...I need your help.

Got a question about the right side (passenger) collector. As I am sure you all already know 2 of the 3 bolts have good access, however the lower passenger side bolt is a bitch to deal with cause the k-member blocks all access. I just found that the bolts have loosened causing major exhaust leak.

There is no way to get a tool on the nut on the back side (header side) and you cant get a socket on the bolt (short pipe) because of the bend of the short pipe is in the way.

What I have done in the past is use an Allen head bolt, this way I can get a ball Allen wrench on it. On the back side I used a serrated lock washer so I dont have to get a tool on the nut.

My question, does anyone have neat tricks for this very hard to get to bolt.

Use an extension and a crow's foot attachment to hold the bolt from the backside, and tighten the nut using whatever your hearts desire. Has worked for me every time and no leaks.

I had nuts welded to the back side of the flange so I would never have to worry about it. I'll get picture so you can see.

This sounds like a good idea.

I am also considering these:

The nuts have that long leg which will make it a lot easier. Im not sure if I can use the locking bolt in this problem area, however the locking fasteners will work for the other two areas.

i had to get it welded together. i did the nut welded on but then the bolt would back out. weld that thing and forget about it. makes taking it out a real pain though.

I definitely am not in favor of welding pipes, as soon as I do I will have to remove it for somthing.

I want rely on fasteners at this point. The stage 8 collector bolts are looking pretty good.

That bolt is in a really tough spot. I used the stage 8 collector bolts ( they have that tabbed nut so that you dont need a wrench on the back). and ground down a 14mm socket at an angle to use on the bolt. Even with my setup it's still difficult to get to but it's at least possible.

I have the stage 8 collector bolts on the way. That sounds like the best way.
Thanks
