Check out Bill Goldburgs "Bull Run" Tue @ 11pm on spike. There's a Red T/A that is running the GM hot cam kit.

Just figures i could give ya a visual idea of a ride.

For the money, you can't go wrong with the Hotcam kit. Plus, some people have put up some outstanding numbers by having all the bolt-ons and supporting mods.

ive got the mods listed in my sig and I am still stuck in the low low 13's trapping at a little over 103 mph. But then again, i havent been able to get the 60' under 1.88 and I havent raced it in a couple years. I only have a mail order tune from Bryan at PCMforless. So if that gives you any idea. Oh, a 2500 stall is worthless, go 2800 or higher with that cam. Itll wake up the car nicely. Plus the sound from the hot cam is great imho...

tfs95z28,
There is no way you should only be trapping 103 with all of those mods. In my 94z28 with an a4, 2400 slp stall, cold air, 3.42 gears, and exhaust my car trapped 102.9. I would say you have a small bug biting your car's a$$. That bug may be the junk granatelli maf. Those things are really hard to dial in.
your 1.88 60 is pretty damn good in my opinion. I couldn't get mine to go sub 2's. That was due to my eibach lowering springs though. I wouldn't say your tune is too far off. Bryan is right on his tunes I have heard. I just threw his tune in my hotcammed imp, not on road yet. My 94z was programmed by Ed Wright and he did awesome. Too pricey for me now that I have a family though

i trap 114 on the stock heads with a cc306, with an auto you would want something like a 3600 with this cam though i would think.

well, your 3.42's helped with your trap and your 2 sec 60' also helped you trap a little bit higher. Dont forget i only have the stock 2.73's in it. It may have a couple issues, and should probably be trapping around 105 id say, but I dont think it is far off. Ive had some issues with small exhaust leaks, but yea, I would have to agree that the GMAF is probably a bit of a problem for me. I should go back to the stocker.

On a side note, does anybody know if that will throw off my tune? Id imagine not right?

The 2.73's are def not helping you. I had the 2.73's when the car was stock and my buddy had a 3.23 car and he used to walk me bad. The 3.42's woke that car up something fierce.
As for the gran mass, they ask what maf you are running so I would call Bryan and ask him. I would bet money your car would run better without the gran.
Is there a reason you are still running the 2.73's? You have alot of mods and they are holding you back unless you are running in the daytona 500. I bet your car screams though from 60 mph up on the highway

yea, it does... it definitely takes off on a roll... i dunno, just never got around to messin around with the gears. And now I may be selling it, so I dunno what to do. LOL

I never really changed out the gears because I have toned it down a bit and dont really race it at all anymore. Just kinda cruise in it and enjoy it. If i decide im going to keep it, then i will probably mess around with it. I always go back and forth about selling it when im not driving it, and then i get in it and realize it would totally suck to not have it anymore... haha

I hear you on the toning it down part. That's why I got rid of my f-bodies and picked up my 95 Impala SS. I just wanted a car that ran good, looked good, and sounded good. It has alot of go fast mods but it is like 4000 lbs so..
I am 30 with my second kid on the way and need the big imp for weekly trips to the lake house.

Talk about hi-jacked..lol Anyway, the HotCam in the video sounded mean as hell. I like the idea of a cam that has some lope to it, and sound ferocious when you step on it.

It just seemed like alot of bolt ons and work to barely be pulling on an ls-1 with just bolt ons. I know now that I'm starting to look into all those crazy other possibilities that will kill my wallet and take me well past my goal.

I still really like the HotCam kit becuase it basically comes with everything you need, while as another cam might be cheaper, you still have to buy all the supporting valvetrain components.

But now I keep thinking cc305, or cc503...lol Cause I'm really not having any luck finding the Cam kit. Decisions Decisions.

Ya, I saw the kit on sumit. It's actually cheaper on Jeggs.. I should've been more clear. I was looking through one of our supporting vendors, but haven't heard back yet. I was also looking for a price that was a little under 500.00 bucks..lol

I was looking at the crane 227.. Not sure what I think yet...lol

In that thread someone mentions that Frank95z went 11.40@116 with the crane 227. Besides that plenty of people have went 11s with the Crane, not sure how many have made it there with the hotcam.
