Thinkin about a rebuild, but need info

I have posted numerous topics about the probs i have been having with my 95TA. Well the car cranks, runs....but runs very very rough and has major power loss. I was thinkin of pullin the motor and gettin a rebuild. However there arent really any signs of internal damage. It makes an odd noise at idle, similar to an engine "knock" but nothing too alarming. I have seafoamed the car just the other night as well. Changed the oil and all, no metal shavings in it suggesting spun bearings. I have just pulled the manifold off and stuff, gettin ready to pull the motor and it looks fine EXCEPT it has puddles of fuel in it. There are puddles in there with a lil bit of oil. Could i just have faulty injectors? that could cause the car to run excessively rich and in turn flood out the motor with fuel, causing it to bog down? Cause B4 i would drive the car and it would seem fine for the first say minute of driving then it would seem to lose some power and start to backfire a lil bit. Also it would seem to idel ok, but when dropped in gear the RPMS would fall significantly low causing me to have sub normal oil pressure as well. I dont have any significant leaks. Could my problem actually be from faulty injectors and not something internal? SHould i pull the heads to check for anything odd there? I would rather just pull the heads than the whole damn motor.

yeah injector problems could cause it to run really rich..your whole problems with it sounds like its from running too rich. reset your pcm, if that doesnt work, start checking stuff. MAF, o2s, injectors, maybe its not getting enough spark to burn the fuel, check your coil, plugs, wires (i know you told me you burned a lot of them) and also check your opti. could be any of those things.

In my past experience, you KNOW it when you have internal damage. It knocks really loud, metal shavings, all that good stuff. I dont think its internal. If its more of a tick, could be a bent pushrod, or since you just installed headers, it might be a header leak, but I dunno. Get a stethoscope and put it at different spots on the motor (block, valve covers, etc) and see where its loudest, see where its coming from. If the tick is from a header leak you will see carbon streaks where the exhaust was leaking out.
