thermostat housing cracked

Anyone ever had this happen to them and did it hurt your opti. I have towels all aroud it but I'm still worried about it. There is some coolant on the ground. If I let the car sit for a couple days and not start it should I have anything to worry about? Thanks

That's a problem you want to take car of. Leaking coolant isn't cool.

Depending on were it is exactly I whould put some JB weld (the putty version) on there, it should solve the problem. Has worked well for me in the past.

Replacing the housing seems like the proper thing to do.

I see... your talking about the water pump neck... I thought you meant the water pump housing itself was cracked.

Just pull it off the hose, and do as Shoebox reccod cheap part easy fix..

Re: thermostat housing cracked

The housing had to be ordered and only cost around twenty bucks but I was just worried about the opti cause I already had it replaced once when my waterpump went out. I was just wondering if there was anything I could do to try to prevent the opti from getting damaged since it already got a little antifreeze on it. Thanks
