thermostat??

how much does a 160 thermostat help an LT1? at all? thanks

It won't do much of anything unless you have the fans programmed to come on earlier also. A cooler running motor means more power though.

makes more power. makes parts last longer too, in theory. i have a manual fan switch hooked up where i flip it off on highway and streets and on while in traffic or neighborhoods. hardly ever gets past 180ish and i love it. eventually i will get a tune which will include the fans to come on around 175-180.

i have a toggle for my fans that dont work anymore.. i have to turn them on manually, and i usually do so when i start the car so i dont forget while im driving, so the fans are always on.

An aftermarket tune that kicks the fans on sooner will probably be of more benefit then just throwing in the thermostat.

my fans are set to come on with the ignition, as they do not work without the ac being on
