Is there a way to monitor whether an elec.H2O pump is operating or failed?

^PM sent.
Anyone else know of anything?
I heard a reading horror story with the pump going out, the block and heads heating up quickly, and then when the engine was off the pump kicked back on, cooled the heads so quickly that they warped the heads and cracked the block.
I dont have that much money for a rebuild, as I just dropped a considerable amount of money into the engine as it is.
I am not going to take that chance of driving and keeping an eye on the temp gauge.
