is there a way to disable the reverse lockout

just curious, can i disable the reverse gear lockout?? i ask because i have a really hard time getting into reverse, don't think its synchro although its possible. just wanna see if getting rid of lockout helps. thanks.

your reverse solenoid could be bad..
There is a white and blue connector on the drivers side, middle of the transmission. That is your reverse solenoid. If its shot its hard to push it over to reverse. Is it hard going into reverse or hard pushing it side ways?

it doesn't want to go into reverse. it will feel like it should be in gear but the reverse gear doesn't engage. does the reverse lockout make it so it doesn't go into gear or so it won't go sideways?

off the top of my head i remember it being tough to push sideways.. not up and into gear.

That's correct. But it shouldn't be that hard, I never hooked up this solenoid after M6 conversion and it takes just little more effort, than normally.
