is there a way....
Hook up a "scanner".... Auto XRay or ScanMaster for direct readings on hardware scanners.... TTS DataMaster, Diacom or FreeScan for software scans. Both DataMaster and FreeScan can be downloaded free. You just need an interface cable for $50-100 from AKM Electronics.
The scanner will indicate "knock retard" which is the computer's response to a knock signal from the knock sensor. It will not allow you to differentiate between "true" knock... destructive ping or detonation, or "false" knock... mechanical noise from the valve train, for example, but it will tell you if you are losing performance due to timing being pulled.
