Is there a such thing as a 1995 SS?
Is there a such thing as a 1995 SS?
I am looking at buying this car and the current owner claims that he has a 1995 SS. Now he also states that the SS package was a dealer option in 1995. So it came in as a Z28 and the dealer put on the SS equipment. Has anyone every heard of this? Or am I about to get hosed? Thanks for the advice!
1996 was the first year of the SS.
The dealer NEVER installed any of the SS equipment - always done by SLP.
IIRC, there were a few prototypes that actually were 1995 models in 96 trim (but I seriously doubt this is one of them)
VIN 10th digit is the year:
S - 1995
T - 1996
The SS option was RPO R7T - you can check the RPO list (glove compartment) for that option

I am the original owner of a 96 SS there is no such thing as a 95 SS. 1996 was the first year they stared the making the SS CAMARO up again and is the lowest production SS CAMARO ever made low 2200 made.
I'm trying to be light hearted here. thanks for trying. I do appreciate it.

I guess you use Trillion then, wow, big deal. Be light hearted when you tell this guy thank you for trying to keep you misinformed about his car so that he could try to get you to buy it for the price of a car that it isn't.
You could have just gone to something like Kelley Blue Book to figure out if he was asking a fair price or not and then seen that there was no option for the "SS Package" in '95. But why would someone smart enough to not use AIM think to check if the price they are about to pay for a car is fair or not.
