when i'm driving the car tends to stay real cool but when i slow down the car heats up not real fast but fast enough for me to notice then when i take off the car cools back down to regular temp or when im onj the freeway it real be real cool then when i get off the temp will go all the way over just before the red line but never sits long enough to get hot

 

Try bleeding the system for air pockets. Also you can lower your fan kick on temps through programing or install a manual fan switch.

 

make sure your fans are working properly

 

an easy fix might be just changing out the thermostat. if you have a 160 you might want a 180, or try a new 180. there cheap and fast to put in

 

ok after running the car real hard a couple of times up and down the block the temp went to 210 and stayed there the fans were not on and they don;t seem like there going to come on either were is the fuse on a firebird for the fans i looked in the fuse panel in the car and i lost the cap from under the hood but i checked all thoses fuses and they seem to be good what else could it be.
