temp sensor?

temp sensor?

how to tell which sensor is bad? the car overheats within 2 min, up to 250. i know a sensor but cant tell which one. help please.

The sensor in the head reports the temp to the gauge. The one in the water pump reports the temp to the computer. It would be beneficial to use a scanner to compare the two temperatures to see if they are close (they should be).

how do you know for sure that it`s a sensor?
