Tell me where this wire plugs into!

I am putting the finishing touches on my 383 install and need to know where one wire goes.

It is a single red wire that goes into a plug. It comes out of the loom that has the wire for the a/c compressor. It only comes out of the loom about 4 inches, and I cant find anything to plug it into. I have removed the egr and air components, but I dont think it goes to any of those things.

Also, on the passenger side there is a long braided ground strap, I dont remember where it goes either.

thanks

Single red and connector goes into the bottom of the alternator.
I dont know of any BRAIDED ground strap on the passenger side. The braid on driver's side goes to coil, and the other grounds on passenger side go to motor mount stud.

Re: Tell me where this wire plugs into!

thanks for the shoebox link, I thought I looked at everything on his site, but I missed that one. It is the alternator wire. I thought it should have something else plugged into it, but I couldnt see where it would go. I will find it tommorow.

As far as the braided ground strap, I should have said drivers side, not pass side. So the long strap goes to the coil mount stud along with the other ground wires??

One end of the ground strap attaches to the coil, and one end attaches to the to the frame rail.
My apologies for the crappy pictures, but maybe they'll help.

Bottom; backside, you're more than likely gonna have to take it off, to plug it in.
