Tell me what's going on past 6k (dyno graph included)
I built the motor to hand rpm like that. Use the heads and cam that I have and only rev it to 6k and you're not going to see the full potential of the combination.
I really appreciate all the help guys. How do I check my installed valve height? I'll be doing this spring swap after it starts to get a little warmer, so the results may take a little while.

Very easy to do. Just a PITA.
Well all of your guys stock main caps must be stronger than any ones i have ever had. mine always tryed to move around when shifting at 6500.After dissassembly my block looked like you beat it with a hummer under the main cap.Now if you run splayed caps it will last.
It helps to use ARP fasteners.
Ok so looking at your times posted you didnt gain any thing shifting at 6300 over shifting at 5800 . looks to me like your motor was of of its power range at 6300. Oh it may have made a little more horsepower. but that onlys shows up in mph. your tork was done at 5800 and thats what you can feel.and mybe you should go back to racing briggs engines.

Put it on a dyno and then you will understand a little more.
sweet, I'm almost positive you'll find your problem as was mentioned by most, once you match the right springs to that cam. I know I did.
ayers, don't know what your problem is, but you need to lighten up a little.
speed, it was along time ago. But like I said, this was a stock class motor running on gas, geared for a 1 and 3/4 mile track.

If you are a so call real world drag racer than why do you go to the track with street tires on your car ? Start saving your paper route money so you can buy some slicks. And this is the last time I will post back on your comments. So if it makes you feel like a big man you can have the last word I"m done with you.
Why the hell would you dyno a car over 10 times? That's a lot of wasted $$$ that could be used to buy other mods.

And I've had my car on the dyno on over 10 seperate occasions so I think I know a little about hp vs torque.
