TEA heads

I was wondering if anyone was using Total Engine Airflow heads? They guarantee their heads to outflow AFR from what I understand. They are also significantly less expensive. Just wondering what people think about em.

What size cam? Something sounds wrong there. Did you have it tuned after the heads/cam? What mods do you have and what did it run before the heads/cam? I would be suspect of problems elsewhere.

No, but I have been considering them since they are fairly close to me. I plan on talking to Lloyd and Phil as well. Only .2 tenths from a cam (depending on size) makes me think it may not be the heads that is your problem. People who change cams and use stock heads see more than .2 tenths gain.

The only problem I think I might have is the cam is a single pattern I chose that cam by the way the flow sheet said the heads flow on the EX from What I have heard they dont what they say they do on the EX that might be my problem. I have HP but TQ sucks
The problem is the single pattern cam, but also the fact that TEA flows there exaust with a pipe which give higher numbers. It's not that they didn't flow that, it's just HOW they got that. I would suggest that the heads are decent to medioker, but you need a good cam to get the full advantage. You at least need 6 degrees of split if not a little more depending on what the heads really flow.

I have TEA heads and am very satisfied. I picked up a full second and 10mph in the 1/8th with my head cam combo. They were very helpful over the phone and have a very good track record with a lot of racers. As far as outflowing AFR's maybe the 180's but our stock LT1 heads can't get much more than 180cc intake volume which makes comparisons with larger volume heads irrelevant. But all in all a good choice in my opinion for head work. As stated Lloyd Elliott is also an excellent choice.

Cliff my best time to date which was in January of this year and traction tricky I ran an 8.0 at 89.7 with a lousy 1.89 60ft. without N20. My car is pretty heavy around 3520 without driver. My heads have TEA's CNC program run with stock valves and have been decked because I hurt a piston spraying the car last year. This is also on stock computer tune I have yet to get the car dyno tuned. Hoping to accomplish that soon. My goal is to run 7.8's at 90 or 91 on motor. My best with stock engine and 150 shot was a 7.8 at 90 so if I can accomplish that on motor I will be astounded. I have yet to run 1/4 mile on my new combo but with stock engine and 150 shot I ran a 12.1 at 114 best.
