TEA 200cc TFS heads on 355, anyone?
Hey guys.
Is anyone out there running the TEA TFS 200cc heads on a 355 (or bigger) engine? If so, how do you like them and how big is your cam?
I am weighing my options now, TEA 200cc TFS heads are not cheap, but, they seem like they offer good numbers, quality, and can be had with 56cc chambers. My 355 has mahle flat top 2 valve relif pistons and shooting for zero deck (shortblock almost done).
I think I'll either go with a good head/cam, or stock head/cam. Big difference, i know, but if i'm gonna spend money on heads and other needed support mods, might as well.
Car has 4.10s, street twin and M6. If anything, I see some 4.30s in the future, BUT, I also see a lot of street driving and rush hour. Keep that in mind.
Thanks.

According to the info in GM High-Tech Performance, they have an LT4 port. You will need an LT4 intake, or rework to the tops of the LT1 intake runners. Quoted head flow is 294 I/257 E at 0.600" lift, with Ferrea 2.02/1.60 valves. Price is $2,195.
They have great potential.
If your spending that much, dish the extra cash and get the 220's. And pick up a used LT4 intake manifold on here.
Anyone know if the LT4 manifold has to be ported to match the heads? Or does it match factory LT4 ports? If it doesnt, does TEA do porting services on intake manifolds?
If I dont get LE ported Trickflows, this is what I would be doing ...

there are a few guys running the ai equilant of those but i have not seen any done by tea. I think they would or should perform the same but who knows. If its either a all of nothing deal why not consider going half way. LE1's, a stock intake manifold and pacesetters would be half the budget tfs 200's, a worked lt1 or used lt4 intake, and some kooks or jethots with td's.
The le1 setup isnt going to throw down 425rwhp and trap 120 but it will be a hell of alot faster than you near stock bolt on car. It will get decent mpg's and have some driveability.
Just a thought. good luck with whatever you do, better luck with the tfs setup.
