TCS = NO Accelerator
TCS = NO Accelerator
Hey! I have an issue on my Formula. It is my dd, bone stock and it is an A4. I have had no problems with her for 298,742 miles other than routine maintenance. I am very well mechanically adept, but I am dumb as a Newb when it comes to the TCS. My camaro don't have that crap on it.
So I get in and start the car the other morning and everything was normal. I leave the driveway and proceed to work, all normal. I get to the end of the subdivision and stop at the stop sign and go to leave and BAM no gas pedal. It will move but it won't rev the engine. I popped the hood and took a look, everything appears normal. I removed the relay and replaced it and still the same thing.
The idiot light in the dash is now on as well says TCS OFF. So what I am looking for is maybe a schematic or breakdown of the system so that I can fix it. I had this up on my home forum and have not found any solution other than to remove the whole thing. At this point that isn't an option. I am also all ears for whatever I should try, except deleting the system. Thanks in advance!

There was a post in the last 3 months by someone who had EXACTLY this same problem..... pedal moves, but the throttle blades don't. The thread included a picture showing (if I recall correctly) a black plastic lever that broke and need to be replaced.
Try a "search". It may have been on LT1 Based Engine Tech, or it may have been on "General 1967-2002 ....Tech".

I also pulled the cover and everything looks fine

Well what do ya know I researched and I entered my title and voila after all the Toyota stuff it appeared. I swear it didn't come up yesterday under LT1 but it came up under general search and then lists it as LT1 tech. Thanks. That thread is preety much all I need to know

With all due respect - I assure you, the post you want exists.
Given the fact that this is the second time in a row I've gotten negative feedback for suggesting a "search", I will no longer offer that advice, no matter how helpful it might be. Sorry you couldn't find it.
Good luck.
