I am thinking around 3600stall

XE 236/242 .556 .576 w/1.6rr
lt4 manifold
all boltons
and some other things

Keep in mind I plan to add these within 3 months

I don't want to go Yank-

A 3600-3800 sounds about right for your set up. Check out your dyno and find a happy medium inyour torque curve and that's the stall that would work best.

I've been very happy with my PI Vigilante 2800 stall. You can't go wrong with the free upgrade either. Just pay shipping and you can have your stall changed free of charge!

I got the one in my Olds from http://www.torcoconverters.com/ It was $210 dollars shipped (for my TH400). With the new converter in the car I went fron 1.9 - 2.1 60's to 1.59 - 1.62 60's. Call and ask for Mickey. He will listen to what you have in the car and what you want to do then make one that will make you happy. If you get it in and are not happy he will send you a UPS call tag and pay the shipping both ways and make changes to the stall.

I really like vig. and the price is not bad....

I went under search and found out what everyone was saying about tc and the 2 brands I came up with were midwest and vig...

any opinions on midwest?
where can I find the best price on the web on either one?

I found my Vig locally for $375. It had only been used for 6 months and never saw the track. You can find a used one in the For Sale section or off of eBay, doesn't matter the stall, and just send it in for a free upgrade. All you need to do is call PI with the number stamped on the flexplate side of the converter, they'll look it up, then give you a return number. Assuming it hadn't already been re-stalled, you can get your free stall change and they'll send it back to you.

I got my midwest for $455 shipped to my door, built to my specs. It's a 9.5" converter with an 11" lockup housing. 2800 stall with a 2.5 str. Vigilante is a nice converter, but I refuse to pay out the *** for one.

I would say to go with a Vigilante. I didn't want to pay the price for one but now that I have it I would do it again in a heartbeat. With the Vigilante you won't be disappointed.

As far as stall goes I would say the 3600 would be fine for your setup.

Assuming your car is OBDI, you will not be able to use a stall >2,800rpm.

Lovin the Vig! I had the OBDI shifting problems with my 3200. But with Tunercat I was able to fix it. But I should note, that I originally had pcmforless try to fix it to no avail.
