TB swap..need help please
TB swap..need help please
The TPS was @ 0.5 volts w/the stock TB when putting the sensor on the new on I noticed it didn't line up as before so I checked it and its @ 0.8 volts
NEW @ closed position 0.8
WOT 4.8
OLD @ closed position 0.5
WOT 4.4 .......anything to worry about here?
Also the IAC as far as that there shouldn't be any issues there huh? Because the whole housing that its in gets transfered to the new TB. Thanks

As long as a scanner reads the TPS 0% when closed and 100% when fully open, you have no problems. Your voltage readings might be ok. The .8v is a little on the high side.

Yes I put it on position angle and it was good 0%-100%. I even put it on a graph to see the trend and its constant up and down, no breaks between.
[QUOTE]Have you checked the throttle stop screw to make sure its not preventing the blades from closing all the way?[QUOTE]
It goes full close and open. I adjusted the throttle cable because it seemed a bit loose but it didn't change anything as far as TPS & IAC.

There is another thing my IAC was @ around 50ish when idle with the stocker but now its 60ish with the new TB. ***Is this just something that it will have to learn back over time?*** From time to time it seems it gets lost and surges a bit before it gets it under control. I remember back when I bought it new (IAC) it did that for awhile, or am I making that up? pretty sure it did

It's not unusual to have higher IAC counts at hot idle with a cam. Your's could be a little lower if you crack the throttle blades open a little more. If you could get them around 40, it might be better. 20-40ish is what a stock engine sees.
