Question Taylor wires for Hooker LT's, top loom or side loom?

I'm thinking about using the Taylor over the valve cover kit. I have the car in sig with Hooker LT's. Are the 8.0 MM wires sufficient? (I have MSD coil and MSD6BTM) Should I go with the top loom or side loom style?

Is there another wire kit that works better?

Thanks

The Taylor OVC kit is actually nothing more than "Made for You" looms, and they work great. I do prefer MSD wires though, they seem a little beefier than the Taylors which I've had trouble with arcing at times. Plus the MSD's come with a nice little tool that you put in a vice and great little number tabs that you put on the opti ends that are very convenient.

I think the top looms look a lot better. I highly recommend these wires. Look here for pics on my car:

So I should get the "Made for You" looms and MSD wires then. Which MSD wires are you talking about? Can I buy both at like Jegs (I'll look)?

I guess the top loom style is better because not only does it look better but it's that much further away from the exhaust

I hate to keep bugging you all about wires ....I just don't want to have to do what I did last time. I wound up buying two sets of wires last time just to have enough that were long enough.......one had to go over and around a header primary instead of under (#5 I think) it and wound up forcing me into buying another set.

Sounds like I should go with the MSD wires (which ones though?) as long as they are long enough and what ....8.8mm or so? Then use Made For You looms made for centerbolt sbc valvecovers. Sound about right?

Thanks

These are what the side looms look like. One advantage of the is i dont have to take them off the get me valve covers off. But with the over the top it's not that big of a deal anyway. It just comes down to what ever you prefer.

Side Looms 1

Side Looms 2

I have the sides as well because I run a Valve cover breather, hence I cant go with the Top mount. I like both of them and they both seem to do the Job well.

Thanks,
Claude

Personally, I thought it was a PITA to get those bolts in the side of the head that hold the metal bracket in the side version. The front on each side wasnt bad but the back ones were a major pain! Seems like the top ones would be alot easier.

If I have to deal with arcing I'd rather not use the Taylors then. Which MSD's are you using? Will they work with the hooker LT's without hacking them up?

Thanks

If it helps I'm about to do a sparkplug/wire change. I'm probably will be going with MSD's 8.5mm superconductors.

But now reading the treads a 2nd time. I'm in the same boat. Seems expensive to spend $80 on msd wires then another $50 for looms. has anybody done this or any other technique for msd wire or any wires for that matter that isn't taylor's otvc "kit".
