Taylor Universal Wires
Taylor Universal Wires
Hey guys!
I have a question when making the universal taylor wires. I've done a lot of searching, but I haven't been able to find an answer so far (and perhaps this is supposed to be easy to do). Basically, I get the opti end over the wires and strip off around 3/4 of an inch from the end of the wire to put the connector on--making sure not to damage the center wire. However, when I fold the conductor over to crimp the connector on, the spiral wire separates so that I can see the white center core slightly. It's not actually broken, but a slight gap appears. As far as I can tell, there wouldn't be a way to fold the wire over without the spiral center core separating slightly since it is spiraled. Am I doing something wrong, or is this slight separation ok? Should I fix this with a little bit of solder on the separated part, or would that mess up the conductivity of the wires?
I appreciate any help!
