Question Taylor 1.4mm wires. Thundervolt vs 409

Is there a difference between the 2? Just based on reading it looks like the 409 is just a 8mm wire and then had more to it to make 10.4 wire. Thundervolt I don't know what it is. Just curious if anyone knows the difference and if anyone is running either. Putting 409's on as I speak.

Apparently they are 2 different wires. Anyone know the universal length of the thundervolt's. 4.5ft isn't long enough for what I'm doing may have a set of 409's for sale because of it.

Save your money and get 8mm wires.

Why do you say that Spinner? I've had 8.5 MSD's were a good wire. Currently have taylor spiral pro's w/ great success as well. Since I'll be running this delteq setup I figure just max the spark out as much as possible.
Besides all the fox body stangs and Sn95 I see over here run the 10.4 w/ out fail. Figured I join the crowd.

Still like to hear your reason behind it all though.
Thanks.

IMO, you dont see much "gain" or a whole lot of difference from just wires. I also say stay with the 8mm

you'll gain 0, & who knows maybe make more radio noise & upset the delteq with radio noise aswell LOL, I'd stay with taylor 8mm.

I say 8mm because that's all you'll ever need. Pro-stockers run 8mm wires. Any more is overkill, and marketing. It's not that bigger wires dont work as well, they're just more expensive for no gain.

The whole issue of one plug wire vs. another has to be one of the least productive I have seen regarding cars like the ones 99.99% of us drive. Basically, they will all work the same. There is no need for an exotic wire, the voltages are current requirements just aren't extreme enough to warrant spending eny extra time or money worrying about which wire set is "best". I have used stock wires the last couple of sets and they seem to work fine. You are better off replacing them regularly than worrying about what brand to use.

Thanks. I wasn't implying that I'll gain any hp out of them more or less just maximizing the spark goin throught he wire. Well I guess I've got a new pair of 409's that will never be used.

Thanks fellas for the input.
