Will those valve covers clear the altenator in the factory location?

I believe any SBC centerbolt valve covers will fit as long as you have the alternator relocated.

AFAIK there is no tall cover that will fit without modification. Either the cover needs to be clearanced or the alternator relocated or something of that sort.

THe valve covers will fit fine. The only issue is the Altinator... thier too big to grind a bit away at the alti... so you have to modify the Valve covers a bit... I still have yet to do so... so mine are still in the box.

If you'll do a search in this forum, you'll see that this is discussed quite often. There is one company in particular that makes a valve cover set that is slightly taller and has the alternator clearance. Do a search.

Re: Tall Center Bolt Valve Covers

There are pictures on my web page of my '93 with GMPP tall aluminum covers with a bowtie and the word "Chevrolet" milled in them. I had to do a little "creative clearancing" on the alternator, but no big deal...I did it with a hand file.

Re: Tall Center Bolt Valve Covers

Are LT4 valve covers considered tall? I think they look nicer then LT1 covers. Will they fit without reloacting the alternator?
