taking out air pump with supercharger

taking out air pump with supercharger

ok first off im going to take off air pump, im going to plug the holes on my headers, and took off the thing that connects the 2 sides, now will my supercharger still be able to be hooked up when im ready, its a paxton, and i wanna take the air pump out first...secondly will my engine throw codes? and lastly where are the holes on the intake that need to be plugged? and also any other info of the subject will help thanks

Is your car OBD I or II. Try the forced induction forum, i'm sure someones encountered that issue before.

Suggestion - Add a "signature" that includes the year of your car, the trans type and any major mods. All LT1's are not the same. People can not give you an accurate answer without having the correct info.

sry guys, its a 95 lt1 m6, has all the bolt ons, including headers and i would like to plug the air valves comin off the headers, and i am installing a paxton supercharger also, stock heads and cam for now.

You can disconnect the air pump and it will not set codes on your car. Being its a 95, it has OBD1 and does not set a code if the circuit is disconnected. I also have a 95 LT1 and removed the air pump to install the supecharger. I took the air pump off the car the first year I bought it. I then installed the supercharger 2 yrs later.

air pump

you will be fine no codes use the vac. fitting for the air pump for your boost gauge source.

thanks a lot guys!! im going to run to autozone now for a few things then pull that pump outta there later on, i'll post any problems i have, hopefully none. one last question, on the elbow from supercharger into the tbody, wut do i do with the hole where the hose from the air pump went?

You can remove the air pump by unplugging it and removing it. Don't try to remove it any further upstream of that (like the relay) because then you will throw a code
