Why exactly are you taking apart your optispark? Car stumbling?

That site is for tearing apart a 1995 opti. The pre-95 opti's are a little different. Specifically, you'll have a little bit of trouble with the photo emitter and the slotted disc. Unlike the '95, our slotted disc is spotwelded to the bearing behind it (cant/shouldn't be removed), and there are two somewhat hidden (T-20) torx bolts underneath that disc that hold the bearing to the metal back-plate. So, you have to pry up on the disc to get to the bolts (WITHOUT BENDING THE DISC!!!). Otherwise, you'll never get the opti fully disassembled.

I vented my stock 94 opti a while back, so I 've got photos explaining all of this if you need them. I've also got a few tips while you're in there. Shoot me an e-mail if you wish...

The bearing isnt welded to the shaft, [that the disc is welded to]but yes it is tricky to get out..and there is no replacement bearing available, and that is usually bad[3 of 4 I have taken apart had bad bearings]

I put a hotcam in a few months back, the car has not ran since. I just put a new timing chain and figured I would take a look inside the opti while it was off. I am just about to put the battery in and see if she will start(I doubt it).
