Taillights Melted!!?

I noticed a few days ago that the part of my taillights over the brake lights is now concave inward. it's very noticable, so I don't think I would have overlooked it for the first 2 and a half years I had my car. What's the deal? Did I somehow melt my lenses?

This is common for people who use tail light covers. Have you had those? If not, did you just recently change the bulbs to a different style bulb?

I've never heard of the "dimple problem" from people who DON'T use tail light covers so if you've never used tail light covers and haven't changed the bulbs to some odd type bulb then I think your case is pretty rare

That's one thing I was thinking, but I took my blackouts off 2 or 3 weeks ago. I don't think they were like that until a few days ago. Did the heat just weaken them up and they did this over the last few weeks? Also, it's not going to do any damage is it? Just look ugly? I can't cover them up with my blackouts again because a certain state trooper has pulled me over about them so much that he remembers my address!!!
