Man, I had to change my dome light housing because it has started to melt on me. I changed it with a new one (plastic) and it too is starting to melt. The light bulb is the right one for the car. Replacement bulb 211-2.

I recently have changed the alternator to a 100amp single wire alternator but that should not have anything to do with the bulb getting so hot that it is melting the plastic.

Either I can try to find a different bulb or maybe some heat sheilding material that I can put between the bulb and the plastic housing.

Anybody ever delt with this?
