i just wired up my alky system, and the installer wired it to the pink ignition wire under the dash for its 12V. i go to do a run lastnight, it turns on and my needles just start pegging 7k/150mph then settle back down like the ECU reset itself (which i think it did, cause my datalog went blank for a moment) after that, i smelt burning electrical tape, so i pulled over, pulled out my relay and rewired the whole thing on the side of the road to run through a 40amp relay. and draw straight from the battery post. i got on it again, and same thing, but not nearly as bad as the 1st time..it did spike by just barely and went right back down...the datalogger wasnt on though. any ideas as to why it would be doing this? i dont see how, but could the pump be drawing too much power?
