t56 swap in a 93

is there any difference from swaping an auto to a t56 in a 94-97, and doing it in a 93? will the 94-97 t56 work? are there wiring differences?

A 94 tranny will go in a 93 no problems. You might want to look at putting a gear with it though.. a 3.23 and 94+ tranny pretty much sucks.. infact i just dropped half a second in the 1/8th with just 3.73's over 3.23's in that combo.

Ditto. Gears are pretty much a must. I've got a 95 T-56 in my purple pearl car, which has a really nice powerband and makes 345/360 to the ground. But.....

Because of the gearing, I could only muster a 12.988@107.98 in the 1/4 with a 2.02 short time. Crossed the traps at 6200 RPM on the tach in third.

Just driving it around the city the car just feels like it's REALLY got to work to get up to speed.

Re: t56 swap in a 93

exactly, with the 94 + tranny the best I could do was a 2.0 60' with 3.73's, same tires, same car, no other changes the thing did a 1.73 first time out.

I could actually make it all the way out of my neibhorhood in first gear iwth the 3.23's.. it was a horrible combo.

Re: t56 swap in a 93

please correct me if i am wrong, i bought a set of 4.10 gears for my M6 swap for a 94 T56, the 4.10's are equal to a set of 3.73's in the A4 correct? another question, is it tremendously hard to do a Ring and Pinion replacement? time isnt a problem, what is required for tools? just a dial indicator? i have read and read on the rear end swaps, and i honestly wanna know if it is tremendously hard to get the Shims within .009?

Re: t56 swap in a 93

oh, and i also ment to ask if there were going to be any differences installing it as far as wiring or anything, how does the speedo work is that different from the later years? the reason i ask is because i was reading a write up about it online and the title said for 94-97 f-body....
and i think you need some kind of press to put the pinnion berring on the gear, and if you are going to try then you should have someone there thats done it before successfully.
