piggy back switch install??

Don't have any instructions for this, and I beleive the adapter may have been installed incorrectly (I did not install this). Stock tuning on my car with the 42 lb/hr injectors, the car ran extremely rich (too the point where the engine just floods right away and the engine dies), and it still does that once the piggyback adapter (mail oder tune) was installed. But in addition to this, now the fans automatically kick on, and the car will not go over 3000 rpm... well that is what I was told by the guy who built my engine, when I got the car it wouldn't run at all, but for maybe 2 seconds and then the engine would flood. I am actually running the G3 switching bank adapter, instead of the G1, because i want to run more than one program on the chip. I found these pictures: http://www.moates.net/documentation....entation_id=11, When I took everything out the ECM, it looks like it was installed the same, cuz the numbers (as seen in the pictures) on the brown peice (that holds the stock chip) and the adapter are both facing upward, is this correct? The adapter looks like it can also be installed the other way around.. should I try this? I don't know if this helps, but there are numbers are the brown peice with the stock chip where you plug the chip in numbered 65 and 66 and the prongs on the switcher were installed on that side, the other side read 1 and 2. Also noticed that in the picture on moates the serial number reads 68767-9014 on the brown peice and is engraved, on my peice it reads 68767-9241 and is just printed in white ink, is it possible that the G3 is just not compatible with that?

Re: piggy back switch install??

hmm.. I actually just received the instructions from Ion and it seems that everything was installed properly, so I can't think of it being anything else. Ion was saying something about it possibly being the ecm going into some kind of a safe mode due the chip not being able to be read properly, which would prevent the car from going past 3,000rpm and kick on the fans automatically, etc. But I highly doubt that is due to it being improperly installed, cuz everything matched up with the installation instructions.
